Discovery
Cove is the ultimate tropical paradise
where you do it all - all in one place.
Swimming
with dolphins is the centerpiece of a daylong adventure at Discovery Cove,
located adjacent to SeaWorld in Orlando, Florida. Interacting with a bottlenose
dolphin is just one of the several experiences in this exotic tropical oasis
that will stay with you for a lifetime.
At Discovery Cove you will snorkel through colorful reefs teeming with thousands
of tropical fish, explore underwater shipwrecks and mysterious grottos, and
lazily swim down a tropical river with rocky waterfalls and a freshwater lagoon.
Snorkelers glide among stingrays - surprisingly gentle creatures that don't
really sting at all, but do grow up to 4 feet in diameter - and stare down
dangerous sharks and barracuda - as you safely swim within inches of them.
Swimming under a picturesque waterfall, you'll enter a free-flight aviary
towering over both water and land. Here you can play with more than 200 tropical
birds.
"With Discovery Cove, we've created an extraordinary family adventure and
have given guests an all-new reason to come to Orlando," says Frank Murru,
Discovery Cove's general manager. "Discovery Cove has truly become Central
Florida's newest vacation destination."

First Baby Dolphin Born
at Discovery Cove
|
|
A
newly born Atlantic bottlenose dolphin weighing approximately 30
pounds and measuring 3 feet long swims along side its mother
Jenny at Discovery Cove in Orlando. Born early morning on
Wednesday, October 4, the bottlenose-baby instinctively swam to
the surface of the water for its first breath of air.
The calf is nursing and bonding with its mother
behind the scenes, but will eventually join other dolphins and
guests in the dolphin swim program.
Orlando’s newest vacation destination,
Discovery Cove, provides guests the opportunity to swim with
dolphins, wade with rays, hand-feed exotic birds and snorkel
with tropical fish.
