(Due to September 11th attacks, the industry was forced to cut back on services and some of the meals represented below may be unavailable for your flight.) Diabetic mealsBelow are the guidelines most airlines follow in preparing diabetic meals. While the diabetic menus provided may not fit the menu plan of every person with diabetes, the nutritional analysis provided with the meal will allow you to regulate fat, protein, and carbohydrate intake more easily. Most diabetic meals are low-calorie as well.
Gluten-free meals Below are the guidelines most airlines follow in preparing gluten-free meals. Although it is possible to use gluten-free bread and cake mixes, plain rice cakes in place of normal bread products can be provided.

Low-fat/low-cholesterol meals Below are the guidelines most airlines follow in preparing low-fat/low-cholesterol meals. These meals meet the guidelines of Heart Smart Restaurants International: 30% or fewer calories from total fat, 10% or fewer calories from saturated fat, 150 mg. or less of cholesterol, and 1100 mg. or less of sodium.

Bland meals Most airlines follow liberal bland guidelines outlined by the American Dietetic Association when preparing meals for surgical patients and others with digestive tract problems.
Low-protein meals Below are the guidelines most airlines follows when preparing low-protein meals. We do not include any meat, fish, eggs, or dairy products in our low protein meal plans because daily protein requirements vary greatly from person to person.
Low sodium meals Most airlines follows the guidelines below when preparing low sodium meals. We eliminate foods with high sodium content, and do not add salt or MSG during food preparation. However, these meals are not salt-free.
