Experience one of the most exciting careers in the world - be a SeaWorld trainer for a day. Spend a day with the SeaWorld San Diego animal staff and discover the daily efforts involved in caring for and training marine mammals. Have you thought about becoming an animal trainer yourself, or just want to get close to awesome marine life? If so, this day long program is for you. You’ll start with orientation and then get dressed for a day at the SeaWorld “office”. Then it’s off to meet the star of the park -Shamu and many of his friends. You’ll do everything from helping with food preparation and area clean-up to learning training techniques and interacting with whales and dolphins. Enjoy lunch at our newest restaurant, Shipwreck Reef Cafe. Because this program is an up-close, intimate experience, only two people at a time can be a SeaWorld “Trainer for a Day.” Participants must be in good physical condition and need to be at least 13 years old.
Ever wanted to enter the watery world of dolphins? Now is your chance with SeaWorld’s Dolphin Interaction Program (DIP). Our splashy DIP begins with a learning session that introduces you to dolphins. Learn about bottlenose dolphin anatomy, physiology, natural history, dolphin husbandry, and animal training at SeaWorld. Then, wade into our shallow water where trainers introduce you to our dolphins. Our wetsuit and booties make this a comfortable experience. Swimming is not required during these shallow-area interactions. Participants must be at least 6 years old and at least 44" tall. The entire program lasts 90 minutes. In-water experience lasts 20 to 25 minutes. Locker rooms and showers are available for your convenience. Program fees are $125 ($105 for SeaWorld 12-Month Pass Members). These fees do not include admission to the park. Advance registration is recommended: call 1-877-436-5746 for more information.
